NOTICE TO BIDDERS
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Silver Valley Unified School District (“District”) will receive bids up to, but not later than 12:00PM on Tuesday, May 4, 2021, sealed bids for the award of a contract for:

RENOVATION OF THE FOOTBALL, BASEBALL AND SOFTBALL FIELDS AT SILVER VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL
Bids shall be received in the District Office Reception Area at 35320 Daggett-Yermo Road, Yermo, CA 92398. Responses must be sealed and clearly marked “RENOVATION OF THE FOOTBALL, BASEBALL AND SOFTBALL FIELDS AT SILVER VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL, BID NO. 2020090601-SVHS-R2.” Facsimile or electronic copies of the bid will not be accepted. Bids received after the above-specified date and time will be rejected. There will not be a public opening, due to COVID restrictions. Award notifications will be completed on bid day.
The Project includes grading, leveling and replacement of existing grass with natural grass turf for the football, softball and baseball fields. Other structures such as, backstops and dugouts, may be included. There will be a MANDATORY Pre-Bid Conference and site inspection/job walk at Silver Valley High School, 35484 Daggett-Yermo Rd., Yermo, CA 92398 on Monday, April 5, 2021 @ 8AM for the purpose of acquainting all prospective bidders with the bid documents and the work site. Please notify Robert Saffel at [email protected], to confirm attendance. No phone calls. Failure to attend this mandatory Pre-Bid Conference will disqualify the non-attending bidder from the bid.
This project is federally funded by a grant awarded to Silver Valley USD by the U.S. Department of Defense, Office of Economic Adjustment (OEA). Specific OEA terms and conditions apply.
Each bid must conform and be responsive to this notice and all other documents comprising the contract documents. All forms must be completed, signed, and returned with the bid. No bidder may withdraw its bid for a period of sixty (60) calendar days after the date set for the receipt of bids. The successful bidder shall file a payment bond issued by an admitted Surety authorized to conduct business in the State of California approved by the District. A performance bond will also be required.
This Project is a public works project and is subject to the payment of prevailing wages. The Director of Industrial Relations has determined the general prevailing rate of per diem wages in the locality in which this work is to be performed for each craft or type of worker needed to execute the contract that will be awarded to the successful bidder, copies of which are available to the public on the internet at http://www.dir.ca.gov/DLSR/ or from the District Business Department, upon request.
The successful bidder and all subcontractor(s) shall comply with all applicable Labor Code provisions, which include, but are not limited to, the payment of not less than the required prevailing rates to all workers employed by them in the execution of the Contract, the employment of apprentices, the hours of labor and the debarment of contractors and subcontractors.
Each Bidder submitting a bid must be a Department of Industrial Relations registered contractor pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5 (“DIR Registered Contractor”), unless an exception expressly provided in the Labor Code applies. This project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the DIR. If awarded the Contract, at all times during performance of the work, the Bidder and all Subcontractors of any tier shall be DIR Registered Contractors and continue to comply with all DIR requirements.
Each bidder shall be a licensed contractor pursuant to the Business and Professions Code and shall be licensed in the following classifications: B: General Contracting, or C27: Landscaping, No bid will be accepted from a contractor who has not been licensed in accordance with the California Business and Profession Code at the time the bid is submitted.
The District reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to accept or reject any one or more items of a bid, or to waive any irregularities or informalities in the bid or in the bidding process.
